Lisa – what a good friend to have! We’ve known each other for almost 5 years. We met when she was missionary for the LDS church in Salt Lake. She used to come over for dinner, or to use the potty, or just to take a quick break. I always loved having her over. One time when they came to dinner, I called her parents while she was sitting right there. Of course they weren’t home, but I left them a message and they called me later that night. I talked to them for a bit and they were sooo excited to hear about her in such an unusual way. I remember when my brother was on a mission and I had just had Cambry. He had a member call me to see how everything was. It was a very pleasant surprise and I vowed to do that for other families who sent their missionaries out into the great unknown.
Lisa and Clay chose to get married in the Manti Temple and it chose to snow/rain the ENTIRE DAY! We started out with a great morning getting ready. Lisa had her friends there to help her. Her friend Cinda did her hair and it was amazing! She was just stunning! She truly had the ‘bridal glow.’
Lisa and Clay also chose to do a ‘first look.’ I ADORE the first look and I was so glad that I was able to capture the story of that exact moment. A first look is when the couple choses to see each other BEFORE the actual ceremony. I love doing these because the moment isn’t rushed. They have time to adore each other. While some couples chose to keep the first look strictly to the ceremony – the first look allows for more time for them and tends to be emotional. The nervousness and anticipation tends to just melt away and for that brief moment in time the world is still and you can soak each other in. Some cry, some laugh, some just stand there with their jaws gaped wide open. It’s amazing! If you are getting married, I HIGHLY recommend you consider a first look.
Lisa snuck up behind Clay and wrapped her arms around him. He turned around and I saw the gleam in his eye that gave him away — he’s totally whooped over Lisa!
Her dress was made by her friend!!! EEEK — it was completely perfect! Perfect for Lisa!
The reception was a great time! She has lived in Utah for a while, but she is originally from Alaska where her family still lives. Her dad brought down FRESH Alaskan Salmon to serve at the reception! Are you kidding me?! I have NEVER tasted food so good in my whole life! I told her dad to move here and have fish shipped in and open a restaurant. I wish he knew how serious I was!
Her dear friend Amanda came all the way from Florida. She set up the reception and did all the decor. It was DARLING! She is talented beyond belief! Her sister Tessa made her cake — it was also nothing shy of perfect! I loved all the natural elements tied in with their theme. The day simply could not have been more ‘Lisa.’
Lisa & Clay – THANK YOU for letting me be a part of this huge day! I had a wonderful time – even in the wet rain and snow. Your day was perfect. Love you to bits!
Yours truly-
Celeste
